Abstract:In this paper, the control variable method is used to study the process of moving jet acting on soil. This paper investigated the process of moving jets acting on soil through experimental methods. The influence of key parameters of the jet on the cleaning effect was discussed in the experiment including soil type, jet velocity, target distance, nozzle diameter, movement speed, jet angle and number of nozzles. It was found that when the soil type is sandy, there is a significant backflow phenomenon. The smaller the shear strength, the more obvious the backflow phenomenon is. When the soil type is clay, the backflow phenomenon is significantly weakened, and the depth and width of the scour hole increase. As the jet velocity increases or the target distance decreases or the nozzle movement speed decreases, the depth and width of the scour hole increase. When the injection pressure is constant, the nozzle diameter increases, and the depth and width of the scour hole significantly increase; When the pump power is constant, the nozzle diameter increases, resulting in a decrease in jet velocity and a decrease in the depth and width of the scour hole. When the vertical jet is applied, the depth of the scour hole is the highest; Changing the angle of the jet will reduce the depth of the scour hole and increase the width of the scour hole compared to the vertical jet. Multi nozzle parallel jet flow can effectively increase the depth and width of the scour hole. This study can provide a reference for the process of jet cleaning of soil cover on the surface of submarine cables during emergency repair.
