Taking a new anti-motion structures of cylindrical FPSO as the research object, the current loads acting on cylindrical FPSO of different anti-motion structures was measured in the wind tunnel. To obtain the uniform flow and decrease the boundary layer, new small floor experimental equipment was designed and the small floor height is adjustable from the floor. The incoming wind vertical velocity profiles were measured for new small floor with hot wire and was found to be more uniformly. Wind tunnel model tests were carried out to check the influence of four different anti-motion structures. And numerical simulation was performed by using CFD method to gain further flow insights into the test results. The main results showed that a contribution from the anti-motion structures constraint on the flow in the wake reduces the drag coefficient. The analysis results can offer reference for anti-motion structures design of cylindrical FPSO.
