Abstract:MSC.Patran/Nastran software is used to conduct finite element analysis on the response of the leg encircling crane pedestal of the jack-up wind turbine installation vessel under various operating conditions in ultimate state. Based on the actual working sea conditions of the leg encircling crane pedestal of the jack-up wind turbine installation vessel, considering self-weight load, environmental load and crane load, 8 working conditions are designed and the finite element analysis of the crane pedestal in ultimate state is conducted. The direct calculation method is used to evaluate the strength of the pedestal. The calculation results show that the structural response of the pedestal meets the specification requirements, the crane pedestal can transfer the loads to the main hull and reinforced structure effectively, and the stress is relatively concentrated at the connection between the crane pedestal and the main hull, as well as at the transition position of the crane's circular rotation, which needs to be paid special attention to. The relevant conclusions obtained through the finite element calculation can be used for the subsequent fatigue life analysis of the leg encircling crane pedestal and the structural lightweight research, which is of practical engineering significance.
