Abstract:In response to the problem that the time domain simulation method of random ice force is single at the present stage, a classical time domain simulation method, the Inverse Fast Fourier Transform (IFFT) method, is introduced into the study of random ice load on the monopile foundation of offshore wind turbines. Combining with the random ice force model, the MATLAB software platform is used to write the ice load time domain simulation program. Based on the structure and dimensions of an 8.5 MW monopile wind turbine at an offshore wind farm in Bozhong, an arithmetic analysis is conducted to obtain the actual distribution of random ice forces on the monopile foundation structure by considering the incidence angle, and the accuracy and speed of the IFFT method to simulate random ice forces are evaluated comprehensively. The results show that the IFFT method, as a simple, fast and accurate time-domain simulation method, is suitable for calculating random ice force on the single pile foundation. The program compiled can achieve the purpose of inputting a small number of parameters to obtain the values and distributions of ice force quickly and efficiently, which is practical and generalizable.
