The concrete steps and related methods of flow field visualization are mainly introduced. The point noise method, line integral convolution method and texture advection method are reviewed and analyzed. The importance of the line integral convolution method in the flow field visualization based on texture is discussed in detail in order to provide some theoretical basis for future improvement and discovery of new algorithms. The main problems faced by the application of virtual reality in the underwater production system are analyzed, summarized and looked forward to. It is pointed out that the balance between perception and the amount of information, relief of the shade of 3D visualization and visual disorder, improvement of computer computing and storage capacity and improvement of model calculation efficiency are the research emphasis and direction in the future.
