Abstract:
In order to facilitate the installation design of deep-water integral Pipeline End Termination (PLET) with pipe-in-pipe, the installation analysis model and main parameters of two key stages of hang-off and lowering of PLET are studied based on PLS system of HYSY 201 vessel and a project in the South China Sea. The comparison between the equivalent single pipe model and pipe-in-pipe model of the hang-off analysis shows that both modeling methods are applicable. The contact parameters (contact stiffness, contact area and anchor position) of the pipe-in-pipe model are of little influence on the load of the pipe and can output the contact load of the inner and outer pipes, which are suitable for installation design. The pipeline load during the lowering process is sensitive to the center of gravity and the added mass hydrodynamic coefficient of PLET, so it needs attention in the installation design.
