Abstract:In order to solve the potential damage to the umbilical cable caused by ocean loads, rigid lifting risers and key equipment during mining operating, a newly designed backpack-type riser clamp is required to fasten the umbilical cable to the lifting rigid riser to compensate the heave motion of the umbilical cable in the area of the telescopic device. On the basis of the previous research, the field operating environment, normal pipe lashing and special pipe lashing in the umbilical cable lashing and the top support and bending limit in the umbilical cable heave compensation are analyzed and studied, and a set of umbilical cable management system suitable for continuous lifting operations of pump-riser in deep sea mining is established. The umbilical cable management system provides a reliable engineering example for the safe service of the umbilical cables in the deep sea mining system.
