To ensure the structural safety of the semi-submersible platform and cribbing during the ocean-going dry-transportation, the hydrodynamic software is used to analyze the motion response of the whole system of semi-submersible ship and semi-submersible platform, and 4 typical load cases are combined. The finite element software is used to analyze the structural strength of the semi-submersible platform and cribbing. The results show that the structural strength of the semi-submersible platform and cribbing satisfies the requirement of the rules under the condition that the maximum significant wave height satisfies the design value. The semi-submersible ship sails under the guidance of the designed maximum significant wave height. The successful completion of the voyage verifies the reliability of the technology, and provides some reference for semi-submersible ship to load similar oversized cargo safely.
