Abstract:The geological conditions in the ocean are complex. In order to solve the problem that the suction anchor commonly used in ocean engineering can not installed in high permeability soil, combined with the actual geological conditions of certain sea area, a gravity installed skirt anchor is proposed. The bearing capacity of the anchor foundation is calculated by theoretical method and finite element method, and the optimal position of the mooring point is discussed. The analysis results show that: the bearing capacity of the gravity installed skirt anchor is increased with the increase of the skirt height, the weight of the gravity installed skirt anchor is decreased with the increase of the skirt height, the installation of the gravity installed skirt anchor is easier and faster than that of the suction anchor; the bearing capacity obtained by the existing codes are safe; due to the high skirt, there is optimal mooring point on the gravity installed skirt anchor, and the optimal mooring point is located at about 1/5 of the bottom of the cylindrical structure under the calculation conditions. The gravity installed skirt anchor can be used as an alternative for anchorage foundation of offshore engineering.
