Abstract:In view of the influence of uplift buckling on the subsea pipeline design at nearshore section, combined with the code requirements and engineering practice, the characteristics of uplift buckling design of subsea pipeline in nearshore area are introduced from the aspects of seabed environmental characteristics, analysis methods and construction requirements. The interaction between uplift buckling and other risks such as pipeline sit-on-bottom stability, scouring and fishery protection in the design at nearshore section is introduced. The engineering influence needed to be paid attention to in the uplift buckling evaluation of nearshore subsea pipeline and the corresponding engineering solutions are discussed in detail. Combined with the construction characteristics of nearshore section and based on the requirements of pipeline protection from uplift buckling, different trenching methods of nearshore section are compared. Some suggestions on the pipeline protection in the construction stage are put forward.
