A new installation technology of the thruster system for drilling platform is introduced. The installation process of the thruster system is divided into three stages: inboard installation, underwater installation, and motor and floating shaft installation. The optimization and innovation of the installation process makes the installation process more reasonable, efficient and safe, so as to ensure the successful installation of the drilling platform thruster system in a relatively short time, and save cost and reduce the installation personnel, risk and error rate of the installation process. It is of great significance to improve the design, manufacture and installation level of marine platform thruster system in China.
