Abstract:The main regulations for the decommissioning of UK continental shelf fixed platforms and the scope of application are summarized and introduced, including Petroleum Act 1998, Energy Act 2016, OSPAR Decision 98/3 on the Disposal of Disused Offshore Installations, The Offshore Installations (Offshore Safety Directive) (Safety Case etc). Regulations 2015, etc. The main responsibilities of the regulatory agencies, such as Department of Business Energy and Industrial Strategy(BEIS), BEIS Environmental Management Team and Offshore Environmental Inspectorate, Offshore Petroleum Regulator for Environment and Decommissioning, etc., and the links between the regulatory agencies are interpreted. The regulatory procedures for offshore fixed facilities decommissioning and the decommissioning plan templates recommended by the regulatory authorities are sorted out and interpreted to some extent, which could provide reference for the development of China's offshore platform decommissioning regulations and supervision.
