Abstract:Taken the truss leg of a jack-up platform as an example, the equivalent simplification method of the truss leg in platform stability analysis is introduced. Through the analysis of the calculation results, it is found that the equivalent drag coefficients are different with different wind direction angles. The Moses stability analysis software is used to model the truss legs carefully. The wind loads under different wind direction angles are calculated and compared with those obtained from the equivalent pile legs method. It is found that the wind loads obtained by detailed modeling are larger than those obtained by the equivalent pile legs method. It shows that although the equivalent simplified treatment of truss pile legs is effective, there are still certain safety hazards. It is suggested that when the equivalent simplified pile legs are used, the wind coefficient of the equivalent pile legs be additionally taken as a safety factor of 1.2 to ensure the reliability and stability of the platform.
