Abstract:To prevent the excessive bending of the flexible riser during application, the bending restrictor is designed to protect the riser. Aiming at the load and working condition of the offshore riser bending restrictor, the finite element analysis software is used to simulate the combination structure of the bending restrictor and riser. The influence of the design parameters and material parameters on its prevention performance against riser bending is discussed. According to the curvature change and stress distribution, the performance evaluation and optimization are carried out, and the corresponding conclusions are given, which provides some support and reference on the bending restrictor design.
