Abstract:PLET is the key equipment for offshore oil and gas development, and its installation also faces more challenges as the application depth increases. There is a lack of domestic experience in J installation in deep water. Based on the development of Lingshui 17-2 deepwater oil and gas field in the South China Sea, this paper uses OrcaFlex software to carry out numerical simulation for the installation of the PLET head end of J-lay installation. Influencing factors of operability envelopes during J-type PLET installation. The results show that PLET is more dangerous in the splash zone and the landing process, and the control condition of the installation operation is when the wave period is about 10s in the same direction and transverse waves. The research content of this paper provides important technical support for the installation of J-lay head-end PLET in Lingshui 17-2 submarine pipeline in the South China Sea.
