Abstract:In order to realize the scientific and reasonable design of geometric parameters of bend stiffener’s connection structure for marine flexible pipes and cables, a numerical model is established and the connection structure is analyzed by the orthogonal test. The bend stiffener-marine cable coupling model which considers the connection structure is established by Abaqus and verified by an equal proportion test. By designing an orthogonal test, 5 geometric parameters of the connection structure are changed, 16 numerical models are established and calculated, and the order and appropriate design intervals of the influence of 5 geometric parameters on each performance index of the bend stiffener are obtained. The results show that: the numerical coupling model and analysis method can provide guidance for the design of bend stiffener’s connection structure; the length of the inner sleeve and the outer diameter of the cylinder are of the greatest impact on the performance index of the bend stiffener, and the analysis of these two geometric parameters should be focused on.
